Discussion

Hey guys. I am really excited about getting this discussion going. We all have very busy lives, so I think this will be a great way to keep us moving forward. Let's get going...

I hope you have all the chance to read chapter 7 again. You were probably familiar with the story, because I used it on Sunday. I love the title on page 168..."Builder Brooks." That is exactly what he was...a builder. He had to build a team and unite them. He had to teach them, train them, encourage them, and get them to live out his philosphy. This had to be a huge and daunting task. The thing we must remember is that we are BUILDERS!!!! You are a builder...you may not see yourself as that, but you are. Jesus was a builder. He called the disciples or asked the disciples to follow Him...He then tought them, invested in them, encouraged them, rebuked and corrected them, empowered them, and sent them out. Then, He left and told them to GO and do the same!! He was a Builder....we are too. If we don't "build" then we will find ourselves getting frustrated, burned out, and maybe even angry at the ministry. This is NOT a fun place to be...I know because I have been there!!! Ministry should be a JOY! The joy of being able to watch others grow and mature spiritually.

Let'scontinue to discuss this, How was Jesus a "Builder"? Be specific...give examples. Also, What does is mean for us to "build" or to be "Builders?" Meaning, how do we recruit folks, who do we recruit, and what do we do once we get them?

You guys are awesome...I look forward to the conversation.

Let's give this a try...

Hey MO staffers--
Given that we only get to meet all together about once a month, we need some way of discussing stuff in between times. Let's give this a try. You can post as anonymous anytime and you will receive emails when someone posts a new blog or comment. This blog is for ideas, comments, concerns, kudos, or whatever else is on your mind....pertinent to MO stuff, I guess. (But, hey, if the election is on your mind, by all means...)

In Him,
Sarah
